IT Technician – Laptop Installation Specialist Consultant

Laptop Setup and Configuration:
 Unbox and inspect new laptops for hardware or packaging defects.
 Install operating systems, drivers, and updates as per company
standards.
 Configure user accounts, network settings, and required applications.
Software Installation:
 Install and activate licensed software, including productivity tools and
security applications.
 Ensure compatibility and proper configuration of essential applications.
System Security:
 Set up antivirus and endpoint protection software.
 Apply security patches and ensure adherence to IT security policies.
Inventory Management:
 Maintain records of newly installed laptops, including serial numbers
and assigned users.
 Coordinate with the IT team to update asset inventory systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or

related field.

• Prior experience in IT support or hardware installation is preferred.
• Certifications such as A+ Certification are a plus.
• Experience in USAID or other international development projects is

advantageous.

• Competencies in Windows/mac OS system configuring operations.
• Experience with software installation and data migration tools.
• Basic knowledge of networking (Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with users.
• Ability to work independently and resolve issues promptly.
