Description:
Hiring Position: Data Center IT Technician
Work Location: Coaticook, QC (Driving is required for this position. A transportation allowance will be provided.)
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor dashboards regularly and environmental conditions inside the data center and adjusting ventilation as required
- Perform firmware updates, hardware troubleshooting, and manage documentation
- Configure new switches along with IOS up-gradation using TFTP server
- Knowledge on Cisco Catalyst Switches (i.e., C2960, C2960+, C3650, C9200L) and Cisco Firewall (i.e., ASA 5506X, Firepower 1010ASA)
- Maintain EtherChannel and STB for robust network
- Trunk Port management of Cisco Switches
- Diagnose network issues using logs and backtracking methods
- Oversee data servers and other monitoring tasks
- Assist monitoring operator remotely oversee operations and ensure system uptime
- Assist handle first-level troubleshooting
- Provide product guidance and technical assistance to customers
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production and logistics) to ensure timely resolution of after-sales service needs
- Maintain operational reports and accurate records of customer for Canadian mining sites
Education and Experience
- An associate degree in IT, computer science or systems analysis, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of blockchain preferred
- Strong problem-solving, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities and abilities to collaborate
- Detail oriented
The ideal candidate will need to be self-motivated, able to follow instruction, and adhere to safety and PPE policies. Every employee will need to be able to do a walk-through of the facility at various times throughout their shift to ensure that everything is running efficiently, taking notes of potential problems and reporting them so they can be addressed.
