We are currently seeking a dynamic IT Technician to work with our Technical Manager maintaining the integrity across our IT Network and associated software within our two Hotels in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall. On hand as IT support to the varied activities across our hotels, you will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer or software issues, or who need IT advice. This role is integral to our wider team’s success and has a significant impact on our guests’ experience. Effective problem-solving, prioritisation, and communication skills are essential for this position!
Responsibilities and Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain end-user workstations, servers, Wi-Fi systems, network cabling, communication systems, televisions and other related equipment, devices, and systems
- Troubleshoot, prioritise, and resolve hardware, connection, printer, and software issues reported by users via our ticketing system
- Upgrade software, install patches, and update operating systems on a regular basis
- Create, update, and delete user accounts when requested
- Provide IT support and advice for both hardware and software issues that users encounter
- Assist with IT Training for users on existing or new IT systems
- Assist in the development and updating of our technical knowledgebase, including self-help guides for users
- Liaise with 3rd party IT suppliers / support companies by logging new faults / requests and assist them towards a quick resolution
- Ensure the integrity and security of business data and IT Network in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Assist with out of hours IT Maintenance on live systems
Qualifications
- Applicant can show experience as IT Technician or related position, or from a relevant university / college course
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of computer systems, Windows and MacOS operating systems, DHCP, TCP/IP, and NAT
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
