Description:
Forbes Solicitors are seeking an experienced IT Trainer and Analyst to join our IT team at our Walton Summit office in Preston. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about technology, innovation, and process improvement. The IT Applications Trainer and Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that the firm’s IT applications and business processes are fully optimised to meet operational needs and strategic objectives. The role is a full time role working Monday to Friday, a total of 36.25 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training to end-users, supporting the development and customisation of workflows and business processes, and driving continuous improvement in how applications are utilised across the firm. You will collaborate closely with various departments to identify inefficiencies, suggest enhancements, and provide hands-on support during system upgrades, application rollouts, and the implementation of new workflows.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2-5+ years of experience in IT application support, management, or training, including delivering end-user training on IT systems and applications.
- Proven experience with enterprise applications such as Office 365, PMS (Practice Management System), CMS (Case Management System), CRM, ERP, and QMS, with experience in a legal practice environment being a plus.
- Proven experience in developing workflows, data capture, and process enhancements within case management or similar systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Experience in business process mapping and proven problem-solving skills.
- Project management experience, including application deployment, upgrades, and enhancements.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Experience with Partner for Windows CMS/PMS.
- API integration and scripting skills for workflow automation.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS.
- Experience in SQL and database management, with the ability to build and generate reports.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, deliver, and maintain training programmes and materials to ensure staff make the most effective use of IT applications.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workflows, processes, and systems that optimise IT services and support business objectives.
- Provide support for application-related incidents, troubleshooting both technical and business process issues to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
- Monitor and optimise the performance of business applications, identifying areas for enhancement and customising workflows to meet evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate with department heads and business process owners to map and analyse current processes, identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements.
- Provide technical and functional support during system upgrades and new application rollouts to ensure seamless transitions and business continuity.
- Conduct workshops, meetings, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to gather feedback and ensure system changes meet business requirements.
- Build and generate reports using tools such as SQL and Power BI to support data-driven decision-making and improve operational performance.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all applications, workflows, and business processes, ensuring that knowledge is effectively transferred across teams.
- Manage IT and business projects, ensuring that project timelines, budgets, and requirements are adhered to, and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
- Analyse help-desk data to identify common trends and issues, making recommendations for improving the use and functionality of IT applications.
- Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of data within business applications, adhering to compliance and best practices.
