If you’ve got a spark for technology and a passion for keeping things running smoothly, our ITS Electrician role in Christchurch is calling your name! At Downer, you’ll be hands-on with the latest in Intelligent Transport Systems, ensuring our roads are smarter, safer, and more efficient.
As an ITS Electrician with Downer, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). This includes working on traffic management systems, electronic signage, and other advanced technologies that improve road safety and efficiency.

NGA PUKENGA MOTUHAKE | IMPORTANT SKILLS

We are looking for candidates with EWRB registration / assessments along with the following skills and experience:

  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering - Electrician for Registration. Must be a New Zealand registered Electrician and have a current Electricians practising license with the EWRB.
  • A current full Class 1 drivers’ licence
  • Must be able to work alone from time to time and be able to manage your own time.
  • Able and willing to complete essential safety, work job sheets and timesheets on a daily basis.
  • Flexibility is essential - as there is an occasional requirement to travel and stay away from home.
  • An on-call roster operates, you will be expected to part of the on-call roster.
  • A mechanical and technically inclined mind
  • A strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work as part of a teamSolid computer skills and exposure to a wide variety of computer applications

  • The successful candidate will have strong electrical experience with experience in industrial electrics, electronics, and some programming ability an advantage and be able to fault find program issues.
    Additionally, you will be involved in various renewals and upgrades, workload allocation and planning forward work and liaising between sub-contractors and staff on the ground driving service delivery and quality to ensure KPI’s are met.
