Description:
JOB SUMMARY
IQGeo is seeking a Java Developer to support our efforts for customisation of our software solutions for domestic and international enterprise customers. This role joins a dynamic team that is focused on the successful delivery of our GIS-based optimisation and automation tools for planning of Fiber & Utility Networks. Our flexible scheduling and outstanding benefits support success in a highly creative, innovative, and energetic company.
As an integral part of the IQGeo implementation services team, the successful candidate will contribute to customising and implementing IQGeo products to our customers in the Telecommunications and Utilities markets.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential:
- 5+ years’ experience as a software developer.
- You have excellent programming skills in Java or another object-oriented language.
- You have experience writing clean code that performs well at scale using Java
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
- Capable of working alone, as part of a team, and on multiple, concurrent projects
- You have an interest in network planning, more specifically for telecom (fiber) or utility networks (heat, electricity, smart grids networks) and you are excited to continuously follow the state-of-the-art in these domains.

- 5+ years’ experience within Scrum and Agile Software development teams.
- Experience with configuration and use of Jira in a Scrum and Agile Software development environment

Responsibilities:
- Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
- Support the product owner with feasibility studies, requirements analysis, and architectural design
- Develop and implement features where you will
- Use the available code base to start from
- Create new algorithms and implement the customers’ requirements
- Be part of one of our Scrum teams, where teamwork and continuous improvement are essential
- Support team members during coding, reviewing, testing, debugging, and analytics tasks
- Review code work for accuracy and functionality
