Description:

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Middle Java Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Mexico. Our client is a leading online training provider. The company offers 7,000+ regulated and non-regulated courses for career development and has 11+ million learners in 67 countries. The robust e-learning platform that supports multimedia content, quizzes, and assessments. Courses are accessible on various devices, including smartphones and tablets. There are regular updates to course content to reflect the latest industry standards and regulations. It is a reliable and reputable company that provides various online training and certification programs across multiple industries, such as real estate, food and beverage, environmental health and safety, and more. Established in 1997 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, they have earned accreditation from esteemed organizations and regulatory bodies like the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), and the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), among others. The engineer will join one of the software development teams dedicated to creating/enhancing desktop-based and web-based applications while working with some of the latest technologies in user interfaces, server architecture, and cloud-based computing. The relaxed but fast-paced work environment promotes open seating, paired programming, cross-team/office collaboration, efficient communication, Scrum methodologies, and TDD principles. The project engineers are thought leaders in the department and local development community. Duties include solving complex issues, learning/teaching new technologies, promoting growth and assuring your team delivers on its commitments. The project duration is at least 5-6 months, with a high probability of extension if all goes well.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience with JVM-based secure web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience with the Spring Boot framework.
  • Middle-level coding expertise in back-end Java.
  • Middle-level coding expertise in front-end JavaScript, ES 6.
  • Knowledge of web standards for APIs (OAuth, SSL, CORS, JWT, etc.).
  • Understanding in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of IDEs such as IntelliJ and Eclipse.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and release management tools.
  • Good knowledge of SCM tools, including Git, subversion, and JIRA.
  • Experience in working in Unix/Linux environments.

  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Ensure that the code meets specifications. Write easily maintainable code and debug your code for preliminary testing. Practice standard software development methodologies and standards.
  • Enhance, modify, and repair existing code.
  • Contribute to the development, delivery, and maintenance of technology-based business solutions.
  • Code, test, and implement configuration changes to software applications to meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Be involved in the full software development lifecycle with other engineers, QA, and designers. Be adept at articulating ideas clearly and well.
  • Generate innovative ideas and support new ideas or approaches that enhance service.
  • Ensure that all architectural/coding guidelines are followed.
  • Participate in requirements debriefing and finalizing requirements.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, communicate options for resolution, and provide recommendations to customer-facing technology problems.
