We are actively seeking Type Rated and Non-Type rated pilots to fly our modern Boeing 737-800 aircraft, connecting New Zealand to the Qantas network.
We have recently updated our hour requirements and removed our training salary provisions meaning new Pilots will receive the full First Officer base pay from day one along with great benefits, and a supportive work environment that values and invests in its people. As a First Officer you’ll have the following qualifications and experience OR ability to obtain prior to commencement:

  • An Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL (A)) or Australian Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL (A)).
  • For CPL holders, passes in a complete set of Australian CASA or New Zealand CAA ATPL subjects are required.
  • Endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on a CASA Multi Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating.
  • A current Instrument Proficiency Check (MEA).
  • Level 6 English Language Proficiency on your CASA Licence.
  • Current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate.
  • The ability to hold an Aviation Security card, ASIC (Aust) and AvSec (NZ).
  • Hold a current passport with at least 12 months validity.
  • The right to live and work in New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship. Non-New Zealand or non-Australian passport holders require a New Zealand Permanent Resident Visa

Hours Requirements: (Updated)

  • 1,500 hours total aeronautical experience,
  • 500 hours of powered fixed wing multi-engine or single-engine-turbine aeroplane, and
  • either:
  • 250 hours in Command of a powered fixed wing aeroplane, or
  • 250 hours in Command of a powered fixed wing aeroplane, of which up to 180 hours may be ICUS, and 500 hours as Co-Pilot of a transport category aeroplane.
