Description:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing diesel-powered machinery, vehicles, and equipment in our manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will be adept at diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment runs efficiently to minimize downtime and boost productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on diesel engines, generators, forklifts, trucks, and other equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including engine overhauls, oil changes, and filter replacements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with engine performance, fuel, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Use diagnostic tools to assess and repair mechanical problems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workshop and follow all safety regulations.
  • Recommend upgrades or equipment replacements when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or certificate in Diesel Mechanics or related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics, hydraulic systems, and electronic diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to solve complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficient in diagnostic tools and software for diesel systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in diesel engines and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Physical ability to work with heavy machinery in varying conditions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to emergency breakdowns.
