Description:

Green Tree School & Services is seeking a dedicated and qualified Job Coach to join our team. This full-time, ten-month position involves assisting the Transition Resource Educator in providing effective programming for middle and high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Emotional Disturbance (ED). The Job Coach will play a critical role in implementing best practices in vocational education and supporting students’ transition to work environments.

QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING

  • Completion of at least two years of postsecondary education, possession of an associate degree or higher, or successful completion of a rigorous state or local assessment.
  • Ability to meet the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requirements for a paraprofessional, including maintaining highly qualified special education paraprofessional status.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle confidential information.
  • Must be physically capable of assisting in preventing an escalated student from self-harm or harm to others.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Vocational Teacher and Coordinator in executing transitional services as outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to continuously adapt and enhance student programming.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students in the classroom, school building, and community settings.
  • Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with employers and staff at off-campus job sites.
  • Support the development and reinforcement of job readiness skills.
  • Maintain accurate data and performance records for each student.
  • Proactively anticipate and address the needs of students.
  • Prepare classroom materials when necessary and assist with clerical tasks.
  • Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, and lunch periods.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
