Primarily remote/work from home with occasional in-person meetings.
Job Developer must be able to travel to various communities across Ontario, during all weather conditions, and be a commutable distance to the Etobicoke head office
Must have Valid G driver’s license and reliable transportation
Full-time, Monday to Friday

OVERVIEW:

Support Ontario Youth is non-profit organization specializing in the skilled trades and apprenticeship pathway across the construction, industrial and motive power sectors.
We are looking for a Job Developer to help support our driven, focused and expanding team. We welcome the experience of someone who can implement processes and systems to stay effectively organized. Someone who is responsible, reliable, collaborative, and highly professional, that’s also enthusiastic and a tenacious team player.
The Job Developer is responsible for employer and participant outreach, candidate sourcing, recruiting, locating employment opportunities for participants of our Skilled Trades Workforce Development programs, and follow up with employers and participants after events. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the skilled trades sector is ideal, and a passion for connecting job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities.
This position reports to our Director of Workforce Development, and works collaboratively with internal departments, employers, event participants, committees, and associations, that increase our portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Support team in employer outreach and follow-up to identify new job opportunities
  • Outreach to new or existing participants of our Workforce Development Program
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to and from various events across the Province (occasional evening and overnights may be needed)
  • Assist in sourcing candidates through various channels based on program requirements
  • Support the recruitment process by conducting interviews, assessing candidates’ skills and qualifications, and matching them with suitable job opportunities
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records/files while managing reporting expectations to submit accurate and timely reports to track activities when required
  • Help achieve the goals of the program and expand referral networks and enhance employer engagement
  • Participate in other activities that directly support positive client outcomes (such as, but not limited to job fairs, webinars, community events, etc.)
  • Attend, participate and collaborate in internal and external meetings both in-person and virtually when required
  • Present information clearly and concisely, even in high-pressure situations
  • Navigate formal and informal communication channels with finesse
