You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates, reviewing project plans, and ensuring that all costs are considered to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation for Joinery: Prepare accurate estimates for joinery works, including bespoke cabinetry, furniture, doors, windows, and other woodwork, ensuring the project costs align with the client’s budget and requirements.

- Tendering and Bidding: Assist in preparing and submitting tenders and bids for joinery projects, ensuring detailed and clear cost breakdowns for clients and stakeholders.
- Material and Labor Sourcing: Source materials, tools, and subcontractors for joinery works, ensuring the best pricing without compromising on quality or project requirements.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the project manager, design team, and carpentry staff to ensure the estimates align with the construction schedule and project objectives.
- Cost Control and Monitoring: Track and monitor the financial performance of joinery projects, including reviewing labor and material costs, and reporting any discrepancies or changes in project scope.
- Client Liaison: Maintain communication with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure that the project progresses as per the original estimate and any variations are properly documented.
- Documentation: Produce clear and detailed reports, including cost breakdowns, material specifications, and labor forecasts for all joinery elements of the project.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to materials, labor, and site conditions early on and propose solutions to mitigate any issues that could impact the project budget or schedule.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on estimating methods and project execution to improve accuracy and efficiency for future projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 4 to 5 years of experience as a Joinery Estimator, Carpentry Estimator, or in a similar role within the construction or joinery industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of joinery materials, carpentry processes, and interior fitout works (e.g., cabinetry, bespoke furniture, woodwork).
- Estimating Software: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills for creating detailed cost breakdowns and reports.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when estimating materials, labor, and costs for joinery work.

- Site Awareness: Ability to interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications specific to joinery work.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges in design or material sourcing early and propose practical solutions.
Desirable Attributes:
- A strong understanding of timber regulations, environmental sustainability, and wood certifications.
