QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant joinery qualification
- A full clean driving license is an advantage
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Detailed knowledge of Joinery components – experience of which is a minimum requirement
- Previous experience with Fit-out/refurbishment or joinery projects is a requirement
- Ability to breakdown a drawing and quantify material
- In-depth knowledge of Joinery and an ability to all forms cost Joinery items
- Experience with all aspects of completing a formal tender from start to finish
- Proven track record in maximising revenue and contribution through team management
- Numerate and articulate
- Determination, drive and the ability to deliver effectively under pressure
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
- Willingness to travel throughout various sites in Ireland if necessary, however this is primarily an office-based role
- A natural communicator with exceptional negotiating and influencing skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role is essential
- Fluency in English is essential - spoken and written
- Strong computer skills – excel, word, outlook – Advanced Excel – minimum requirement
- Must possess a dynamic approach to achieving continuous improvement
- Must be a team player
- Ability to identify the value v/s the cost of an item
- A strong understanding of modern manufacturing and assembly techniques
- A strong awareness and understanding for all materials included in joinery manufacturing like MDF, hardwoods, metalworks, lighting, glass, solid surface, stone, fabrics etc.
- Proven ability to learn new materials and methods of manufacturing

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE
Joinery Estimator will be responsible for the collation of information and tender preparation / presentation before being submitted to the client for numerous Joinery commercial Fitout projects across the business.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (PRE AND POST TENDER)
(this is not an exhaustive list)
- Pricing of all work, with a specific focus on all joinery works
- Complete detailed tenders from start to finish, accurately and on time
- Preparing cost reports where required
- Liaising with clients from initial enquiries through to final accounts, where required
- Cost Control / management of projects
- Actively work with the Project Manager relating to contract variations
- Dealing with clients/engineers/contractors/ designers/ architects
- Issuing tender queries and preparation of tender reports
- Reporting to management on the financial progression of projects
- Ensure that you are working in line with current health and safety standards
- Assist in pricing and sourcing specialised material
- Review method of assembly to ensure costing up to date Compile data already completed by different departments to present a Cost v/s Actual on all contracts over a set value
- Maintain database of supplier costs and update as required
- Undertake a continuous review of existing suppliers for all aspects of the costing process
- Review of existing charge out rates for all internal & external workers. Delivering this key information to the sales team in order to drive accurate sales valuations
- Ability and willingness to develop new and existing client relationships
- Any other duties that may be assigned by your line manager
