Q2 ALS manufactures high quality individual pump parts in the Oil and Gas Industry. We offer a complete product line of barrels, plungers, fittings, accessories and heat treated tubing needed for downhole pump installations.
Basic Employee Responsibilities
Every Q2 Artificial Lift Services employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

EXPERIENCE:

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Journeyman Certificate but experience will be considered.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to measure parts to verify that the size meets the specifications.
  • Understand the production environment and how to prioritize the necessary tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team which includes machinists, CNC Operators, and management to coordinate efforts to ensure that machines are used efficiently, and work priorities are well managed.
  • Ability to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience

Responsibilities:

  • Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures.
  • Showing respect and pride for facilities and equipment.
  • Being responsible – on time for work, and take breaks during designated times.
  • Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.
    Position Specific Responsibilities

Operating CNC machines, in accordance with approved, safe work procedures. Machining parts as scheduled by supervisor, ensuring conformance to specifications. Manage a clean work area and daily housekeeping in accordance with company 5S policies.

  • Operate CNC machines and complete work orders to maximize operational and machine efficiency. Operate and run 2 CNC machines when directed to.
  • Set up CNC Machines for Operators as per the schedule to keep machines running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Operate Manual Lathe and/or Manual Mill when required for business necessity.
  • Work to improve setup times and program cycle times. Communicate possible improvements to the CNC Lead Hand and/or CNC Manufacturing Manager.
  • Train other employees in the safe and proper operation of equipment in the CNC department.
  • Manage daily CNC process flow. Ensure next job is staged (incl. Material, gages, tooling) to maximize efficiency and decrease set-up time.
  • Complete work order documents and update hourly production boards (incl. set-up times and issues).
  • Complete daily housekeeping as per company 5S policy and maintain a clean and neat work area.
  • Conducting regular routine maintenance operations on equipment when required.
  • Ensuring the integrity and current calibration of all the measuring devices is maintained.
  • Report to Manager any requirements for tools, parts and supplies.
  • Understand job orders and drawings to determine machining operations to be performed.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using calibrated gauges.
  • Perform quality checks as required.
  • Report and document any nonconforming product as per NCR policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Periodic heavy lifting up to 50lbs
  • Standing for up to 3 hours at a time, before a break
  • Manual dexterity to set up tooling and run push-button controls
  • Required to work is a shop environment where there may be loud noises from time to time and heat fluctuations
