BIM / CADD TECHNICIAN – JUNIOR OR INTERMEDIATE

Headquartered in Exeter ON with a new office in Eastern ON, JMR delivers Electrical and Mechanical services on projects in Healthcare facilities, Colleges, Universities and Recreational Centers.
Scope of Position:
JMR is seeking a highly motivated Junior BIM/CADD Technician to join our team. This is a long-term role, ideal for someone eager to develop their skills and grow within the field. The successful candidate will work closely with senior technicians to create detailed drawings, models, and layouts in AutoCAD and Revit, focusing on the integration of electrical and mechanical disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop Revit models and prepare drawings based on preliminary concepts, sketches, and other data sources.
  • Create Autodesk Revit drawings from sketches, mark-ups, and designs of electrical and mechanical building systems.
  • -Review drawings to minimize errors and make necessary alterations.
  • Check layouts for interferences between systems (electrical, mechanical) and building components (e.g., structure, ceilings, millwork, etc.).
  • Print drawing sets for review and approval to produce complete packages
  • Collaborate with the project team as needed to implement required drafting specifications.
  • Maintain familiarity with current modeling and drafting techniques, ensuring adherence to the company’s BIM and CADD standards.
  • Develop various electrical and mechanical systems layouts in co-ordination with the structural and architectural components of a building
  • Support Project Managers acting as a project coordinator from time to time
  • Perform assigned design tasks within a given time

Required knowledge and qualifications:

  • Preferred candidate will have 1 – 2 years of working knowledge and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, or other relevant design software
  • Education consisting of Architectural design-related education (diploma), computer drafting in AutoCAD and REVIT (diploma), Electrical or Mechanical technician or technologist (diploma), or related experience in Revit.
  • Willing to work extra hours above 40 hours a week when necessary to meet project deadlines and client demands
  • Willing to visit job sites throughout Ontario when required to verify CAD related design
  • Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Possess excellent problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills

This is a full time vacant position that offers full benefit and pension package well above the industry standards.
