Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the business analysts and developers to translate functional requirements into executable test cases
  • Assist with reviewing and generating test plans, test case data, building procedures and testing scripts based upon functional specifications
  • Execute test cases, coordinate and execute tests, log, validate defects, and debug
  • Document test plans and test cases
  • Perform 508 functional testing on applications/systems utilizing various 508 compliance tools such as JAWS, ZoomText and Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment and have collaboration skills with business and technical staff
  • Interact with Federal and contractor functional leads to clarify requirements and scenarios
  • Assist test lead/manager to define and refine functional testing approaches, tools, automation and documentation
  • Create, update and maintain application/system, integration and regression test cases
  • Perform full cycles of sprint, regression, and integration testing
  • Generate test summary reports after each testing cycle to show testing progress, actual testing results, and pass/fail status
  • Participate in regular project status meetings, track and communicate testing progress, issues and risks
  • Assist the Federal and contractor resources to conduct User Acceptance Testing
  • Utilize software testing tools and develop software test automation
  • Respond to developers’ questions regarding test results, bugs and defects
  • Communicate frequently with customers and team members, facilitating discussions and exercising professional judgment as required

Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in testing software applications
  • Experience working in Agile and SDLC work environments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio)
  • Some experience in test automation including the development and execution of automated test scripts
  • Experience with 508 functional testing
  • Experience with defect tracking/requirements management tool, desired technologies include: IBM Rational Suite, (ClearQuest, Requirements Pro, Functional Test)
  • Experience in all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, and regression testing
  • Experience testing all layers of the application, including web-based user interface, service layer, data migration, integration layer, data layer, and performance testing

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific /technical discipline and 4+ years’ experience

Clearance:

  • Must be US Citizen or US Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Must be Federal Tax Compliant
  • The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation (Current IRS clearance preferred)
