Description:
OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will directly engage with employees at all levels and be responsible for technical support to end users to make sure their systems are reliably maintained and available. This role will also ensure that SLAs are met and issues impacting the business end users are addressed and resolved with view to the long-term. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage and develop technical support skills in business environments and gain exposure to a broad range of technologies.
Location: The Jr. IT Associate works from office location.
Work Hours: 8am – 4:30pm
- This position will require travel between our different sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 - 3 years working in IT end user support or equivalent experience
- A passion for helping people to use technology
- Ability to communicate patiently and effectively with non-technical employees
- Proven capability to manage and prioritize expectations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively
- Strong experience in the Microsoft product suite in an Active Directory domain environment
- Exposure to virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V / VMWare
- Solid understanding of IP-based network protocols and troubleshooting tools
- Diligence in responding to inquiries and tracking time in our Ticketing System
- Attention to detail and tidiness in setting up and maintaining IT systems and IT Rooms
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Experience administering Azure AD / Microsoft 365 tenants is an asset
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Windows Server, Azure, CompTIA) are an asset
- Experience using ConnectWise Manage and RMM tools is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Get to know each employee and their business department well to provide informed, intelligent support and advice
- Work closely with IT provider and draw on support from a core team of experienced technical staff
- Resolve service requests by providing daily onsite support for end user computing and mobile devices, peripherals, and software
- Troubleshoot network communication issues and service failures
- Diagnose and replace computer and network equipment
- Assist in the IT Strategy
- Prepare new hardware for deployment
- Engage and assist third party vendor support in resolving employee IT issues
- Diligently follow and maintain SOPs and documentation of the companies environments
- Assist in reviewing monthly IT systems report from IT service company
- Advance your professional development by taking advantage of the company- sponsored technical training and certification program
- Manage mobile devices, review plans and invoices
- Install and prepare mobile devices for deployment to Service techs
- Manage IP phone system and work with vendor, configure users and call flow
- Ensure Security camera systems are working and manage those devices
- Manage door fob software configuration and maintain holiday schedules
- Assist and research new software solutions
