As a Jr Legal Counsel for the stabilized assets for Germany your primary objective is to manage, in consultation with the other legal counsels, all legal issues relating to the property management of Goodman’s stabilized assets in Germany.
More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to:
- Negotiate, draft and review lease agreements and related amendments, as well as lease related correspondence including.
- Become the first point of contact for the asset management teams for all legal matters relating to the asset management of stabilized assets.
- Advise on and manage legal issues related to asset management with a focus on compliance with applicable law, regulations and Goodman standards.
- Ensuring the coordination of legal disputes and/or litigation.
- Flag deviations from Goodman standards in the quality assurance and corporate governance process.
- Follow-up of changes in relevant laws and regulations, business needs or industry trends, raising awareness and updating template contracts in relation thereto.
- Providing on time, pro-active and accurate support within your field(s) of expertise.
- Working in close collaboration with the asset management in Germany and with the wider European legal team.
- Practice “preventive law” by training and educating colleagues on general legal and development matters.
- Involving and liaise with law firms in an effective way and at fair cost.
- Advise on and manage legal issues regarding photovoltaic installations and other energy and sustainability topics.
Do you recognize yourself?
- Master’s degree or 2nd Staatsexamen in law (‘Volljurist’) or experienced counsel (‘1st Staatsexamen’ or ‘ Master Wirtschaftsrecht’).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the different aspects of real estate law with a good knowledge of leasing law.
- Have a strong interest in and be keen to learn about sustainable features / energy concepts for to keep real estate assets future proof (Photo Voltaic, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, Battery Charging, Power Purchase agreements…).
- Perfect knowledge of German & English, both written and spoken.
- High integrity and interpersonal skills, excellent in critical analysis of legal issues and in providing pragmatic tailor-made solutions, being flexible and committed to bottom line result, outgoing and pro-active, able to work on multiple matters under time pressure, being a team player.
- Able to travel if required (short periods of maximum two days in Germany or to Belgium).
- Keen to learn everything about Goodman and its business in a fast-changing market
- And most important: have a critical and challenging mindset.
