JOB SUMMARY

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic technology practitioner eager to excel in a hybrid, on-premise and cloud environment? We are seeking a Junior Network and Systems Administrator who is passionate about learning new skills and expanding their expertise. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can enhance staff satisfaction by resolving IT issues and improving the effective use of deployed technologies to achieve the company’s business objectives.
The position will support existing on-premises servers, primarily Windows-based, as well as networking infrastructure, cloud-based resources, security practices, and enterprise software. The role also involves running the Help Desk, assisting approximately 50 users with their computer issues. Additionally, this position will research and recommend hardware and software technologies to meet the growing company’s business requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of overall IT experience, including Desktop Support, Systems Engineering, and Network and Systems Administration.
  • Proficiency in End User Support/Desktop Support, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and troubleshooting for desktops and mobile devices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated sense of responsibility and follow-through.
  • Experience in installing, administering, supporting, and maintaining the Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure AD), ensuring security and performance.
  • Knowledge of Systems Administration, specifically Microsoft Windows Server Platforms, Active Directory, and Group Policy. Experience with server upgrades and a basic understanding of Linux systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, with prior experience working with switches and WiFi infrastructure such as HPE Aruba or UniFi. Familiarity with server virtualization technology, including VMware/vSphere or Oracle VirtualBox.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual private networks (VPNs).
  • Experience with Microsoft Tenant migration is a plus.
  • Experience with Connectwise Automate and ScreenConnect is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to company office locations within the US.

QUALIFICATIONS (CERTIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION):

  • A bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field, such as computer science, information technology, or network engineering.
  • Alternatively, candidate would have Azure certifications AZ-900, AZ-800 and AZ-104; or CompTIA A+, Networking+, and optionally Security+.
  • The ideal candidate will have advanced from a Support Help Desk role and possess approximately 2 years of recent experience as a Server/Network Administrator.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT support services to both onsite and remote users, utilizing a ticketing system to manage and resolve inquiries efficiently.
  • Perform necessary patching and upgrades of computer systems as required.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and networking communications across all enterprise systems, including firewalls, networking infrastructure, and security.
  • Ensure consistent deployment and updating of anti-malware protection on all endpoints, enterprise systems, and infrastructure.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others, adhering to all corporate health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Use safety devices and protective equipment correctly, and report any hazards, accidents, or injuries to the immediate supervisor.
