Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This class performs clerical and complex technical tasks in the preparation, analysis, verification and enforcement of orders, writs, and attachments of persons for delinquent child support, determining information dissemination, transportation arrangements, and disbursement of collected sums.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) AND two to three years of progressively responsible legal/judiciary server experience, and excellent clerical, keyboard, and general office skills; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license.
Notary public.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Modern office practices and procedures.
Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes.
Applicable legal terminology.
Departmental policies and procedures.
Basic bookkeeping principles.
Contemporary records management practices
SKILL IN:
Using a computer and related software applications.
Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Conducting research and drawing valid conclusions based on findings.
Preparing clear and concise reports, statistical information and other written data.
Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
Interpreting and analyzing a variety of judicial and legal documents for processing.

Responsibilities:
Prepares, prioritizes, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the attachment and transportation of persons arrested as directed by the courts, ensuring applicable policies and procedures are followed.
Receives and reviews writs, and attachments issued by Judges; conducts associated research; determines and implements appropriate procedures for arrest and/or seizures of persons as ordered.
Prepares a variety of legal documents, which may include: affidavits, notices to vacate, detention notices, transportation notices, Department of Revenue receipts, and/or other related documents; and may collect funds and issue receipts.
Analyzes, verifies, and authorizes a variety of judicial documents.
Prepares and maintains a variety of correspondence, statistical reports, narratives, and/or other written materials; and validates monthly FCIC reports..
Performs a variety of clerical duties in support of unit operations, which may include: maintaining inventory; receiving, sorting, and dispersing daily mail; maintaining logs and worksheets; and/or, performing other related activities.
Assists in formulating and implementing enforceable policies and procedures; obtains and disseminates updated statutes, rules, and regulations governing departmental activities.
Provides expert testimony in legal cases based on assigned area of responsibility.
Trains newly hired employees in criminal processing prolicies and procedures; and prepares related training progress reports
Prepares, prioritizes, disseminates, and resolves issues relating to service of Notice of Taking Depositions on applicable personnel.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
