Job Title: Assistant Juice Bar Manager
Department: Juice Bar / Bakery
Reports To: Juice Bar / Bakery Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with department manager to manage and provide oversight to all areas of the department. Assesses prioritizes, and delegates tasks and production.
  • Guides the work of department clerks, including planning and assigning work, ensuring quality standards, training and coaching staff, and overseeing their productivity.
  • Partners with the department management team to maintain excellent department conditions, including appearance, cleanliness, signage, staffing, and service levels.
  • Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays, and events. Plans for weekly ads, events, and holidays using tools and reports.
  • May participate in other activities, such as inventories, scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Builds displays and arranges department products to make attractive presentations, highlighting featured/unique/seasonal items.
  • Maintains professional vendor relationships.
  • Ensures customer special orders are accurately placed and delivered.
  • Prepares Juice Bar department for store opening and closing.
  • Prepares, cuts, wraps, weighs, tares, prices, and presents Juice Bar department products.
  • Stocks, rotates, and faces products with attention to product quality and expiration dates.
  • Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count, and condition. Communicates any issues to management and the merchandising team.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with products in the department and a general understanding of culinary terminology, product labeling, and common dietary restrictions, with a willingness to continue learning.
  • Follows company procedures for processing invoices, transfers, and credits.
  • Demonstrates and shares a solid knowledge of products in the store and industry trends with a general understanding of culinary terminology, product labeling, and common dietary restrictions.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of labor, sales, and margin goals and factors that influence them. Works with department manager to meet labor and margin goals and schedule department accordingly. Develops and executes a plan when results do not meet expectations.
  • Coaches department to maintain appropriate, accurate, and organized inventory and backstock. Handles damaged and spoiled products according to company policy.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of department equipment and can train staff and troubleshoot errors as needed.
  • Leverages resources and labor to maximize efficiency, without compromising quality and service standards.
  • Balances administrative tasks with presence on the floor.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
