Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team specializing in real estate and project accounting. In this role, the successful incumbent will be responsible for managing essential accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and supporting monthly draws. You will also collaborate with senior team members to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management . project accounting and procurement.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks and Sage, as well as Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Familiarity with real estate accounting practices and processes is a plus.

Responsibilities:

The Junior Accountant will join a strong team responsible for evaluating and supporting the financial aspects of real estate projects. You will bring passion and energy to our culture and excel in a high growth environment. You have strong financial acumen and analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of accounting.

In addition to the duties typically expected of a junior level accounting professional, the successful incumbent will also be responsible for:

  • Data Entry: Perform accurate data entry for various items, including time entry in QuickBooks for PBC Group and monthly draw information in Sage Construction.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR): Manage the entry and processing of invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Monthly Draw Assistance: Support the accounting team in preparing and reviewing monthly draws to facilitate project funding and tracking.
  • Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations for various accounts, including Visa and other company credit cards, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Audit Support: Assist with year-end audits by gathering and organizing required documentation for the Senior Accountant or Controller.
  • Other Duties: Provide additional support as needed, such as collecting financial data, assisting with ad hoc reports, and supporting broader team objectives.
