The Medtronic Finance Operations and Control organization consists of various finance functions and has a growing number of specialists worldwide, including the External Reporting team for the region of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) primary located in Heerlen, the Netherlands. External Reporting offers services for multiple key financial processes including Statutory and Corporate Income Tax reporting, Group reporting support and Audit coordination. It serves a wide range of Europe, Middle East and Africa region countries and continues to expand the scope.

In this role you will be:

  • Reporting to the Supervisor External Reporting EMEA. The team’s services include statutory financial reporting, Corporate Income Tax accounting and reporting, audit coordination and group reporting for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region,
  • Preparation of the financial statements, audit coordination, statutory filing and tax filing,
  • Translate US GAAP to local GAAP accounting principles,
  • Coordinate and review activities of junior team members and service provider,
  • Corporate Income Tax accounting and reporting for group purposes,
  • Prepare finance updates for the local board meetings,
  • Key role in project teams to roll out strategy to expand the team’s scope,
  • Participate and lead projects and initiatives to transform, optimize, standardize, and automate audit coordination and statutory, corporate income tax and group reporting, also using LEAN methodology.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Audit or Accounting,
  • Experience with compiling financial statements,
  • 2+ years relevant working experience in accounting or audit,
  • Highly self-motivated, pro-active and results driven,
  • Minimum C1 proficiency level in English business language,
  • Microsoft Excel intermediate proficiency level.

Nice to Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent,
  • Enterprise Resource Planning system experience (preferably SAP),
  • Experience with US GAAP / IFRS.
