Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with 2 years of experience to join our finance team. Responsibilities include trust accounting, managing accounts payable, assisting with invoicing and debt collections, and processing payroll for multiple regions. The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong accounting knowledge, and teamwork. Candidates transitioning from an accounting firm to an in-house role are welcome.
Key Responsibilities:

Trust Accounting

  • Maintain and reconcile trust accounts per regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of trust transactions
  • Manage and ensure timely rental payments
  • Run required reports related to trust accounts and prepare statements
  • Assist with trust account audits

    Accounts Payable Management

  • Manage and execute AP runs, including verifying and processing invoices

  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and maintain accurate records
  • Reconcile bank statements and vendor statements and handle discrepancies
  • Ensuring data in AP systems and accounting systems are reconciled

    Invoicing and Accounts Receivable Support

  • Assist in generating and sending out invoices to clients

  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Support AR reconciliations and prepare related reports

    Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll accurately and timely for Australia

  • Prepare and gather data for overseas outsourced payroll providers for monthly payroll
  • Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Reconcile payroll source data from various regions in the accounting system.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws
  • Manage leave reconciliation for multiple regions

General Accounting Support

  • Assist with mouth-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Assisting multi regional audits.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in trust accounting, payroll, AP, and AR.
  • Experience in an accounting firm is highly valued, especially for those transitioning to an in-house role.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with multi-regional payroll processing is beneficial but not required
