YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Basic knowledge on title 19 - Customs duties (US Code of Federal Regulation) and US Free Trade Agreements – additionally, continue to attend trainings on these topics to remain adequately informed and knowledgeable.
  • Systems aptitude is a requirement for this position with knowledge of various GM Systems used for GMNA Imports mainly TMSII, Cognos, Sterling, Microsoft Power BI and other sources knowledge necessary for the role – employee must be willing to continuously learn the GM systems landscape and functionality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Basic Macro and MS Access knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Customs Junior Analyst roles and responsibilities include the following: prepares reports and analysis on GMNA Customs Imports correctly and timely executed based on the set standard and methodologies, follows adequate compliance requirements and internal controls, and serves as a repository of expertise in their functional area.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible in preparing the necessary information needed to be uploaded in the system and/or sharepoint, for creation and solicitation.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly status of workload to Team Lead/Supervisor.
  • Able to communicate and speak fluently with GM US Business Partners, Brokers and Third-Party Service Providers for any missing/incomplete information or documentation.
  • Able to perform simple analysis and interpretation of related data to properly complete appropriate Customs output report.
  • Ensure compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to performance metrics, root causing issues, process improvements.
  • Help to Identify non-value adding processes within the team and seeks solutions
  • Prepare and update desk procedures as necessary
