JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Manager, Technology and Applications, the successful candidate will have a passion for technology and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
The Junior App Developer will support ECO Canada’s technology infrastructure by ensuring the seamless operation of our systems and websites. This role is responsible for implementing updates, customizing functionalities, and addressing technical issues. The position aims to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability, thereby facilitating the effective achievement of ECO Canada’s program objectives. Additionally, the role involves contributing to project documentation and keeping up to date with industry developments to support continuous technological advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary or university program, preferably in a field related to technology, computer science, or software development.
  • Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery and MySQL.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, Visual Studio, SQL and SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio).
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles.
  • Strong understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
  • Experience in Programming with .NET is an asset.
    This role is a temporary contract position until March 31, 2025.
    ECO Canada offers the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement (minimum 3 days per week at the Calgary office and the option to work remotely for the remaining 2 days).

Responsibilities:

  • Working on IT tickets which entails applying coding fixes to our web applications (.Net based), user account merges, retrieving data from RDBMS as per client requests and data updates (extensively using SQL queries). Training will be provided on these tasks.
  • Test new software applications and logging the bugs.
  • Performing Research on third-party tools and applying system integrations.
  • Contribute to project documentation (Process Flows, User guides, ER diagrams etc.).
