KONI was founded in 1857 by A. de Koning in Oud-Beijerland, the Netherlands, initially making leather equipment for horses. In 1945, KONI began development of the world’s first adjustable hydraulic telescopic type shock absorber for cars and trucks, a product style which remains synonymous with KONI.

KONI also has a long history of working with companies to develop Original Equipment (O.E.) applications which transform vehicle driving quality and experiences.
KONI has developed from a skilled small local company into a multi-national leading shock absorber specialist with 5 locations (The Netherlands, India, US, China and Czech Republic) worldwide and well known across the world. For our Railway business we are looking for an Application Engineer Railway.
Responsibilities:
In this role you are responsible to define best technical solution for customer and Lead the implementation to Start of Production (SOP). You support sales providing cost effective technical solution in order to win the target order, act as the main technical interface with customer, collect customer needs and requirement and participate with R&D to development of new dedicated products, prepare drawings, testing plan and other customer and fabrication related documents and you act as Project Manager in order to assure development milestones, engage the cross functional Team and have a smooth handover of the project to the Operation Team with the FAI completion.
Main responsibilities / tasks:
- Input estimation of testing and homologation fee for the project evaluation.
- Involve in the production process review and give technical support in prototype production.
- Define the product development plan with team.
- Prepare and release customer drawings, production drawing, Fabrication Instruction (FI), Testing plan and other related instruction.
- Work with customer to get drawing and test plan approval
- Take care of project management (milestones, team meetings, smooth handover to production)
- Organize the project kick off meeting,
- Involvement & guidance of technical specification with customers
- To supply KONI differentiating value together with sales team
- Drive the technical project progress from project start to BOM release base on project schedule
- Increase customers intimacy and understand and discuss the needs for new products( With R&D)
- Lead Technical part of New Train Homologation process.
- Inform and coordinate designated production plant in preparation for new product SOP.
- Verify that all the project deliverable (PPAP, Testing, drawing, FI) are in place before SOP
