Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

ICT Services are currently recruiting for a Junior Application Support Engineer to work for one of our clients in Dublin 24. This is a full time permanent role with a hybrid model of work, 2-3 days onsite per week.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Application Support Engineer with 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have basic SQL knowledge and scripting skills, and will play a crucial role in supporting the applications and infrastructure teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an application support role.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Application Support: Provide first and second-line support for internal systems and applications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Incident Management: Monitor, log, and resolve incidents in a timely manner, adhering to SLAs.
  • SQL Knowledge: Write and execute basic SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data for reporting and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • System Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless application performance and reliability.
