We are looking for a junior content producer to work across Startups.co.uk’s digital platforms including website, social media, videos, newsletters and podcasts. They’ll repurpose our written content and insights as well as use their writing, editing, and storytelling skills to craft their own compelling multi-platform content that educates, entertains and elevates our brand presence.
The role also involves support for the Startups Editorial team in their planning, briefing, editing and updating of topical and commercial content on the Startups.co.uk website and the Startups 100 Index, our flagship annual campaign.
This is an incredibly varied role with the chance to support a wide range of editorial tasks and projects, and show imagination and initiative with content creation, audience and brand building.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repurpose existing written content and produce original high-quality multi-platform content that resonates with our audience, promoting our products and enhancing brand visibility.
  • Ensure a consistent and relevant pipeline of content across our social media channels.
  • Research and establish a presence on alternative channels (such as Reddit and Quora) to extend our off-page reach.
  • Write engaging descriptions, titles, and tags with strategic keywords to boost content visibility and searchability.
  • Source and collaborate with industry influencers / key players to develop mutually beneficial partnerships and promotional content that amplifies our reach and brand message.
  • Keep a pulse on social media trends, especially on LinkedIn and Instagram, to create content that’s relevant, timely, and likely to engage and expand our community.
  • Measure, test and refine your content to inform your content strategy and initiatives going forward.
  • Support the Startups team in ensuring the smooth running of the content pipeline through workflow management software (monday.com) and Wordpress by tasks such as uploading articles and ensuring key content elements are kept up to date (eg. prices, dates).
  • Support the Startups team with additional projects or events such as outreach for the Startups 100 campaign.

Skills:

  • Some demonstrable experience in multi-platform content creation, whether video / social media, podcast or newsletters.
  • A good understanding of social media platforms, trends, and the specific nuances of their communities.
  • Proficient with some video editing software and creative tools and the ability to familiarise yourself with and use new ones.
  • Solid storytelling and visual skills, with a keen eye for detail and an instinct for capturing audience attention swiftly.
  • Agility to thrive in a fast-paced setting, managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality content within tight deadlines.
