Description:
ABOUT US:
Our mission is to facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy by providing innovative financial solutions to our clients.
We are not just any energy and sustainability group; we’re a dynamic, award-winning powerhouse! At the forefront of environmental innovation, we lead the charge in providing cutting-edge solutions for large-scale energy consumers. From guiding small business to corporate giants on their journey to achieve net zero emissions to expertly managing risks and supplying vital power and gas resources, we do it all. We’re not content with just excelling in our current ventures - we thrive on pioneering new businesses and seizing energy investment opportunities.
Role:
As part of the CFP Energy Credit Risk team, you will assist our Senior Credit Risk Analyst in assessing and monitoring the credit quality of our trading clients and developing strategies to mitigate such risk by setting appropriate external and internal limits, requiring collateral, margining, parent guarantees, and credit insurance as required. You will be liaising with both the internal multi-lingual salesforce, our market risk team, and our existing and prospective clients across Europe, as well as reaching into Asia and America.
You will support our credit team by gathering and organising information from our clients’ KYC/AML submissions, including corporate structure data, financial statements, market signals, rating agency reports, and competitor news. You will assist the Senior Credit Risk Analyst in the preparation of credit assessments and written reports, collaborate with the credit team to discuss and refine your findings, and contribute to presentations for the bi-weekly Risk Committee meetings, attended by senior management and market risk colleagues. This role offers an opportunity to develop your credit analysis skills and gain valuable insights from experienced professionals in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Credit Analysis: Assist senior team members in preparing credit analyses of businesses to assess their creditworthiness and identify potential risks by reviewing and analysing financial statements and other relevant data.
- Risk Assessment: Help prepare rating recommendations and participate in evaluating credit risk by considering factors such as industry trends, market conditions, collateral, and repayment capacity.
- Credit Portfolio Monitoring: Support the team in monitoring and reviewing credit portfolios to identify emerging risks and trends and suggest appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
- Documentation and Reporting: Assist in preparing clear and concise credit risk reports, summarizing findings, recommendations, and supporting analyses for presentation to the firm’s internal Risk Committee.
- Continuous Monitoring: Help monitor the credit risk environment and macro-economic trends.
- M&A Support: Provide analytical support for the internal M&A function, assisting in the review of acquisition and investment opportunities and preparing submissions for the firm’s Investment Committee.
- Process Improvement: Assist in automating and streamlining processes to improve integration, effectiveness, and efficiency.
