SHORT DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Azure Databricks Engineer to join their dynamic data team. In this role, you will support the development and optimization of data workflows and analytics solutions on the Azure Databricks platform. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging data professional to develop their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Participate in strategic discussions to plan deliverables in alignment with stakeholders. As part of the client’s cross-disciplinary team, you’ll work with stakeholders across geographies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in Azure DataBricks (ADB), Azure Data Factory (ADF), T-SQL, Azure SQL DWH, Azure SQL Database, ADLS.
• Experience in writing ADB/Synapse notebooks.
• Experience in other Azure services for database, storage, security, and development.
• Background with Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views & Data warehousing(Clear on the concepts of creating Facts, dims etc.)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Azure functions, Azure Streaming Analytics, Document DB (or Cosmos), MDS (SQL Master Data Service) and Graph DB.
• Experience on SSAS Tabular Model, DAX queries & query optimization, resolving performance issues, database tuning and data replication techniques with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience working in Sprint model and working knowledge of project status tracking using tools like Azure Dev Ops (ADO), JIRA, etc.
• Strong communication skills, able to work directly with the client as an individual contributor.

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and integrate with Azure DataBricks (ADB) for data processing.
• Write and manage Azure Databricks and Synapse notebooks for various data tasks.
• Utilize T-SQL and SparkSQL/PySpark for complex data queries and transformations.
• Work with Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) for data storage and retrieval.
• Leverage Power Apps and Power Automate to enhance data workflows and automate processes.
• Design and implement data warehousing solutions, including facts, dimensions, and views.
• Participate in Agile sprints and track project status using Azure DevOps (ADO) or JIRA.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand requirements and deliver data solutions.
