Description:
To strengthen our Technology Innovation department, we are looking for a new team member. Join us for a six-month internship at our centrally located office in Basel, Switzerland, with the potential to advance into a permanent position.
As a Data Scientist Intern, you will be responsible for assisting with the development, experimentation and creation of machine learning, statistics and cutting-edge mathematical algorithms for various applications with a focus on NLP and/or Graph Machine Learning. You will be also supporting the Team analytics to analyze data and deploy support Business Dashboard for the management.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc or MSC studies in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science.
- Practical or student project experience in Data Science field developing useful machine learning applications.
- Theoretical and technical knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, including statistical and machine learning libraries (other languages are a plus, e.g. R).
- Experience with Deep Learning development framework (Pytorch, TensorFlow) is beneficial.
- Experience in applying and implementing NLP and/or Graph Machine Learning is beneficial.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate, document, share and pursue ideas and results to technical and non-technical audiences (fluency in English is a must).
- Creative team player with a results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities:
- Supporting the AI team to develop applications in the area of Natural Language Processing and Graph Machine Learning.
- Developing, optimizing and evaluating new Machine Learning and Statistical models.
- Finding new approaches and algorithms that solve specific business problems.
- Investigating and comparing research prototypes.
