Description:

Location: Hybrid – Birmingham Business Park 3 days in the office (Mon, Tue, Wed – in the office until the training is complete then possibility to choose which 3 days to be in the office)
Standard working hours: 8am – 5pm
Job Title: SQL/VBA Developer (1-4 years’ experience)
Reports To: Dev Lead

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong SQL skills, T-SQL
  • SSMS knowledge

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Primarily using Microsoft SQL Server integrated with Microsoft Office applications, the reports and tools created must serve the needs of the wider business so that data can be easily imported, maintained and exported for use in various in-house systems and commercial websites. A good understanding of database administration, normalisation, optimisation and data management is essential, as is the ability to create user-friendly interfaces and reports via Microsoft VBA in Access and Excel. This role will also support ETLs and new application integration.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with self-motivation, high standards of work and effective communication skills to deliver quality data solutions to a wide variety of challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - DAILY TASKS WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • Assist with development of both front and back-end functionality, as well as maintaining and updating the databases
  • Resolution of daily data load errors and performance and DB design improvements
  • Data enhancements and implementation of data integrity measures
  • Contribute to defining and maintaining stored procedures
  • Develop queries and procedures and maintain the current ones
  • Weekly data accuracy and consistency checks, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Maintenance of MS Access application: creating application enhancements/interfaces, providing maintenance for programs
  • Analysis of product data and creation of bespoke analytical reports
  • Assisting with monthly reporting
  • Ad-hoc data tasks
  • Investigate queries from all levels of the business through data manipulation and analysis
  • Maintain internal cross - team relationships
