Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
The L1 Downlink Physical Layer team in Ulm is looking for an ambitious embedded software development expert who will work in engineering role. You will be part of a L1 scrum team responsible for implementation of 4G and 5G and beyond functionalities in next generation base station.

The work assignment will be the Nokia base station and as a member of a L1 scrum team, you will be responsible for:

  • planning, designing, implementing, reporting and testing of base station functionalities as a member of a scrum team
  • maintenance and monitoring of delivered functionalities to assure best quality
  • participating and organizing code reviews for the technical area of responsibility
  • executing technical activities and projects within own responsibility area
  • analysing requirements and creating R&D documentation for feature teams
  • supporting project and program planning
  • introducing best development practices to daily job
  • developing specialist knowledge and solving complex engineering problems in different technology areas
  • participating in relevant technical studies

You have:

  • Proven track of experience/knowledge in C/C++ programming preferably in embedded environments
  • Experience/knowledge with object oriented design and programming
  • Experience in Linux operating system
  • Experience/knowledge in test methodology, test automation
  • Experience/knowledge in scripting languages e.g. Perl, Python
  • Experience/knowledge in source code control tools like SVN and GIT
  • Knowledge of SW development methodologies (Agile/Scrum)
  • Good communication in English (both written and spoken) and basic communication in German (level A2)Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Software Technology or equivalent education

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Software optimization with profiling tools
  • Experience in embedded SW development, distributed real time programming or DSP SW programming would be beneficial
  • knowledge of SW development methodologies (Agile/Scrum)
  • Telecommunication domain knowledge (Layer 1/ Uplane/ Cplane) in any technology (2G/3G/4G/5G)
  • Machine Learning/Deep Learning
