YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Dillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking for a Junior Environmental Professional (AIT, EIT or GIT) to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.
This is primarily a field-based position and will require working from Dillon’s Edmonton, AB office. We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.
Responsibilities:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or geology.
  • Entry level position but up to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting will be an asset.
  • Strong work ethic with genuine interest in environmental consulting and field work.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities to work in a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office i.e. Excel and Word
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable with use and operation of a 4X4 truck in an off-road environment.
  • Willingness to work remotely in the field for up to two weeks.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to work alone with guided direction or partial supervision.
    Experience:

Experience in any of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Experience working around heavy equipment, including drill rigs and excavators.
  • Phased Environmental Site Assessment and remediation and/or hazardous building material surveys.
  • Soil and groundwater/surface water sampling.
  • Experience with groundwater monitoring, including conducting slug tests and using data loggers
  • Knowledge in several of: geology, hydrogeology, environmental sampling procedures, environmental chemistry, site characterization, waste management, remediation, and health and safety.
  • Proficiency in ESdat, , Surfer, gINT or database abilities will be an asset.
