Junior HR Generalist

Waste Connections is currently seeking an on-site Jr. HR Generalist to join our Western Region Office located in Vancouver, Washington. This office supports 4000+ employees in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Idaho. As the Region HR Generalist, you’ll be part of a four-person Human Resources team that provides advice to leaders on complex employee relations matters. You will conduct fact findings investigations and through a consultative approach you will problem solve, influence resolution, and mitigate risk. In this role, you will help manage complex leave of absences, provide guidance and advice to field leadership, and will also assist in identifying talent and developing future leaders.

• Participates in projects and planning that support employee development and success.
• Coaches and supports field leadership with performance management issues, including; coaching conversations, investigations, and progressive discipline.
• Advises and manages through complex Leave of Absence issues.
• Provides administrative support within the HR department.
• Assists with integrating newly acquired companies and employees.
• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, and other people matters.
• Assists with planning and implementing strategic HR initiatives related to leadership development and culture.
• Provides training and informative presentations to field leadership.
• Additional duties as assigned.
