Description:

Key Responsibilities To assist in the production and review of standard operating procedures relating to key tasks with the Team To complete all tasks assigned using the Information Teams standard operating procedures. Responsibility for ensuring data is correctly extracted from Trust administration systems within specified timescales and escalated to a more senior member of the Team should any issues arise. To assist in the analysis of data using the software tools most suited to the identified data source. Create queries and reports in SQL / Power BI / Excel and other reporting tools as appropriate To strive to continually improve the quality of information provided to service users, by implementing and proposing changes to practice in their current area of work.
To support in the implementation of mandatory changes applicable to the Information Team including the development of new data sets and submissions. To assist in projects ongoing across the Trust, both through the analysis of data to support decision making processes and the sharing of knowledge / skills as appropriate. To attend internal / external meetings as appropriate to the role. To strive to continually improve the quality of information provided to service users.
To play a supporting role in development of new tools and systems within the department to meet the information requirements of both management and clinicians. Performance Management and Reporting Support the more senior members of the team to ensure that the Trust has a complete understanding of its performance against all targets and standards. To support the timely production of the Trust Performance report and ensure that they are received by the appropriate individuals, at the scheduled times. To support in providing advice and guidance regarding data and performance target definitions as required.
To gain knowledge of the main national and local policies and assist in providing expert advice, with support of more senior colleagues in the Team. To assist in the implementation of requirements held within contracts with other Organisations. To work with the Divisional Services to develop a better understanding of information and performance management and its application within the Trust. Ad Hoc Requests To support the timely and accurate production of ad Hoc / Foi requests.
Use knowledge of data collected and processed to identify a suitable information source, considering specific requirements, and Seeking advice from supervisors when required. Confirm data quality by checking against comparable data or referring to another member of the information team to check analysis work as appropriate. Liaise with a diverse range of staff including managers and clinicians to interpret requirements and negotiate deadlines. Advise of information available and use own judgement to disseminate sensitive information within confidentially guidelines.
File data according to the Information Department policy to ensure further work can be undertaken. To develop and maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of different data sources and data sets including the relevant national data definitions. To develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of national documents, guidance, and policies relevant to the delivery of the requirements of this post.
To ensure personal wellbeing is considered and practiced. Undertake mandatory training appropriate to the role. To ensure development and maintenance of a personal development portfolio.
