JUNIOR INFRASTRUCTURE & CLOUD ENGINEER

We are in search of a Junior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join the team, ideally based in our Glasgow office, but some flexibility exists over remote working. WHO DO WE NEED?

We are looking for someone with a passion for infrastructure and cloud-based technologies, ideally from a managed services background with experience in cloud hosted environments. You will be self-motivated and be able to multitask in line with team demands and customer SLA’s. You must be comfortable speaking to customers and have very good written and oral communication skills.

Ideally, you will:

  • Have a working knowledge of supporting cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Have a working knowledge of supporting Windows Server Environments, from Server 2012 – 2019, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO
  • Have a basic understanding of Cloud Networking Technology including load balancing and firewalls
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft technologies such as, SCCM and Intune
  • Have strong analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of basic to complex incidents, ensuring these are resolved or escalated to the satisfaction of SLA’s
  • Experience in using an ITSM tool such as ServiceNow
  • Possess excellent customer communication skills
  • Have experience of producing and updating technical documentation to a working standard
  • A proven track record of working within the ITIL framework, particularly around Incident Management, Request Fulfilment and Change Control. ITIL certification preferred
  • Have a proven track record of being part of a team delivering a professional and effective Infrastructure and Cloud support capabilities, at a basic level of understanding
  • Demonstrate an organised, dynamic and flexible approach
  • Possess or able to obtain BPSS clearance or higher

Responsibilities:

You will provide support and knowledge on AWS and Azure hosted cloud platforms, Microsoft Windows Server Environments, Virtualized Environments, Microsoft Stack Technologies.
The work you will be involved with will primarily be BAU support work across our customer portfolio. You may be expected to travel occasionally and potentially form part of an on-call facility for our customers.
Your passion and experience will help you develop your skills across a wide range of technologies and services and add further value to our service offerings. You will be expected to contribute towards technical documentation and provide material to support the BAU service teams.
