YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS

  • Willing to work on weekends and nights, as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • A valid Ontario ‘G’ Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Post Secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Junior Inspector (rcji) Technology/Technician or currently as an engineering university/college student.
  • Previous engineering/construction experience is an asset.
  • Prior experience working on MTO projects an asset.
  • Either registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO or as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a contract administration team under the supervision of senior inspectors, assistant contract administrators and contract administrators.
  • Provide inspection activities to promote compliance with contract documents, design specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Monitor work quality to identify and report deficiencies in materials and workmanship.
  • Assist with and perform site surveying tasks.
  • Perform field measurements of work by the contractor to ensure accurate and timely progress payments.
  • Produce daily diaries with site observations, measurements and photos.
  • Aid in preparation of various project specific reports.
  • Contribute to the management of the project’s materials sampling and testing requirements.
  • Support an effective working relationship with our client’s, their contractors and other agencies.
  • Champion an open, honest and positive safety culture within the team.
