Description:

Hodson Bay Group are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a Junior IT Systems Administrator. As a Junior IT Systems Administrator you will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining our company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about IT and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT.
  • You will have demonstrable customer service experience, technical support experience and will have held a previous client facing/desk side IT role position.
  • Previous experience of giving staff training / handover of software /hardware an advantage.
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with hardware and software - installing and troubleshooting of both through onsite and remote.
  • Knowledge / Experience of windows operating systems, Windows 7,10 and 11.
  • Some knowledge/experience in LAN/WAN - patching.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Configuring Smartphones and tablets for email, data, and 3rd party apps.
  • Using IT Software to manage & prioritise work tasks. - 200 users so communication with users throughout process is important.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365/Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive an advantage.
  • Escalation of issues where appropriate to 3rd Party - ISP, Printers.
  • Carry out IT related projects as assigned in a diverse environment.
  • Proactive support - on-going maintenance and monitoring of systems in accordance with appropriate plans.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the IT industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manor.
  • Problem-solving skills and be able to handle the stress involved when complications arise.
  • Flexible approach to work and prepared to work outside normal working hours, this is a busy role, which may involve occasional out of hours work to resolve IT issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage deadlines and effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Own transport, must be flexible to travel to our other Hotels in Dublin, Athlone, and Galway.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English
