The Production team requires a Junior Kitting/Packing Clerk to work as part of our supply chain team and assist with various tasks. This is a role requiring someone who is extremely motivated, flexible, organized and can cope well under pressure. The ideal candidate will be responsible primarily Kitting and Packing. Additional tasks include stocking of shelves, organization of products, material handling, inspections, inventory reconciliations, serial number tracking, etc. while providing service excellence to internal and external customers.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Grade 12 supplemented by APICs courses or at least two-years recent related experience
  • Physically fit and the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects
  • Experience with best packing and material handling practices is an asset
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required
  • Experience using fixed and hand shop tools
  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment
  • WHMIS, Forklift and Crane experience are an asset
  • Attention to detail, organization and care and high level of quality is required
  • Comfortable using computers and windows applications
  • ERP, warehouse and inventory management experience and training is an asset
  • Works well with minimal or no supervision, self motivated
  • Clean driving record
  • QHSE certifications and keen on safety protocols is an asset
  • Able to read and understand basic engineering drawings and use measuring devices for inspection purposes is an asset
  • Accurate data entry and record keeping in windows-based software is essential
  • Ability to maintain a high level of performance in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities:

  • Kit, prepare, issue and receive materials for production
  • Assist with packing and crating for shipping new and customer owned products
  • Unpack and store incoming materials in an organized manner
  • Load and unload materials deliveries and shipments
  • Perform drilling, cutting and other light mechanical hands-on duties to meet production demand
  • Maintain production and warehouse areas clean and always organized
  • Adhere to quality control processes and procedures
  • Assist managing inventory, counts and reconciliation
  • Operate forklift, crane and mechanical shop equipment as required
