Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Legal Secretary to join a close-knit and friendly Workers’ Compensation team in our Perth office. The team specialise in providing legal advice and representation to insurer clients in relation to claims made for injuries sustained in the workplace. This hands-on role will see you providing support to a Partner, Special Counsel and Lawyers, together with support and guidance from a Legal Secretary.
Your day to day responsibilities will be varied, but will include:
- Opening of new matters and closing and archiving of completed matters
- Conducting conflict searches
- Solicitor diary management
- Telephone calls with clients, Courts/Tribunals, other law firms, and third parties (i.e. medical practices, medico-legal companies etc.)
- Arranging medical appointments
- Creating medical schedules and schedules of authorities
- Drafting and amending routine correspondence
- Preparation and filing of court documents, including subpoenas, tender bundles etc. and arranging service
- Collating briefs to Counsel and medical experts
- Electronic and hard copy filing and setting up sub-folders for electronic files
- Monthly billing, including invoicing and preparation of bills. Previous experience with Aderant/Expert Billing will be highly regarded
- General administrative duties
