JOB DESCRIPTION:

At Key Media, we’re looking for a Junior Market Research Specialist to join our dynamic team in Toronto. This hybrid role offers you the chance to work both remotely and in our collaborative downtown office, giving you flexibility while building your career in market research.
As a Junior Market Research Specialist, you’ll play a key role in helping us explore the viability of new product ideas, conducting thorough market research, and supporting the early-stage development of innovative products. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our products and potentially expand your expertise into broader areas of market research.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conducting mainly phone research into specific industries to map value chains and identify key industry players
  • Conducting competitive analyses of media presence in various industries
  • Identifying key areas of opportunity based on catalysts such as regulatory, market and technological changes
  • Conducting mainly primary and also secondary research, including interviewing industry leaders, combing research databases, analyzing large data sets, etc.
  • Developing reports and presentations on all of the above

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a related role (market research, analytics, data insights, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively.
  • Passion for exploring new ideas and identifying market opportunities.
  • Knowledge of market research methodologies and tools (familiarity with surveys, focus groups, or industry reports is a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or similar) is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills; experience of presenting findings and recommendations to executives and company leadership advantageous.
