JOB SUMMARY:

As a Junior Materials Scientist, you’ll play a key role in researching, developing, and testing novel materials and coatings for our water harvesting technologies. You’ll collaborate with engineers and researchers to explore and evaluate materials that enhance the efficiency, durability, and sustainability of our products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of material properties, characterization techniques, and experimental design.
  • Skills: Familiarity with laboratory equipment, data analysis software, and scientific writing.
  • Passion: Genuine interest in sustainability, water conservation, and emerging technologies.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Teamwork: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Conduct thorough research on materials relevant to water harvesting, including hydrogels, superhydrophobic coatings, aerogels, and more.
  • Experimentation: Design and execute laboratory experiments to assess the properties of materials in water collection and retention scenarios.
  • Analysis: Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to the team.
  • Material Characterization: Utilize various characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, spectroscopy, DSC, TGA, Mechanical testing) to understand material structure and properties.
  • Prototyping: Assist in the development and testing of material prototypes for real-world applications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and designers to integrate materials into water harvesting products and systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of research, experiments, and material properties.
