Responsibilities:
- Shall report directly to the Mechanical Project Manager.
- The role shall be predominately field based.
- Management of mechanical systems packages.
- Have an understanding of the project schedule and milestones.
- Tracking of sub-contractor progress against the project schedule. Being able to identify when works aren’t progressing as required to meet the project schedule.
- Ensuring that all mechanical sub-contractors are working in a co-ordinated manner with all other Mercury sub-contractors (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, CSA) to achieve the overall project objectives.
Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Mercury Safety Advisor(s).
Reviewing and signing off sub-contractor RAMS prior to their start on site.
- Ensuring sub-contractors are working according to their RAMS.
- Reviewing and signing off sub-contractor Safe Plans of Action (SPAs).
- Ensuring sub-contractors are working as per their SPAs.
- Ensuring all required work permits are submitted and approved by the sub-contractors on time. Etc
Management of QA of the mechanical systems in conjunction with the Mercury QA Manager.
Ensuring that sub-contractors are installing as per their Quality & Inspection/Testing Plans, approved Benchmarks and latest approved layout drawings.
- Ensuring that all installed material and equipment match the approved technical submittals.
- Inspection (i.e. completing QA checklists) and snagging of mechanical systems as they are offered for handover by the sub-contractors.
- Ensuring that all snags identified are closed out by the sub-contractors in a timely fashion. Etc
- Management of the benchmarking process for mechanical systems:
- Preparing of benchmark documentation.
- System walks with the client’s representative and ensuring sign off of prepared benchmarks.
Management of pre-commissioning & testing of the mechanical systems and handover of said systems and/or equipment to the Mercury commissioning team.
Ensuring all equipment installed is tracked and tagged as per the Mercury commissioning guidelines.
- Preparation of mechanical system test packs in conjunction with the sub-contractors.
- Ensuring all documentation to achieve commissioning tags/steps is received and published in a timely manner.
- Assisting the Mercury Commissioning Team as required to ensure that project commissioning goals are met.
- Attendance at all site meetings as required, i.e. morning whiteboards, DABs meeting, collaborative planning meetings, EHS meetings, QA meetings, sub-contractor progress meetings, client meetings etc.
- Ensuring that all mechanical sub-contractor (and Mercury) materials delivered to site match the approved technical submittals.
- Management of the technical submittal and drawing approval process:
- Reviewing of sub-contractors’ submittals prior to issuing to the client to ensure they are compliant with the specifications.
- Ensuring all rejected submittals (or submittal with comments) are revised by the sub-contractor/Mercury and approved by the client.
- Engaging in on-site install co-ordination and clash resolution with the mechanical sub-contractors, other sub-contractors & the Mercury team as required.
- Have a full understanding of the project specifications.
- Assist the Mercury design team to produce Stage 5/coordinated drawings/SDLs, review said drawings and subsequently ensure that they are approved by the client.
- Review sub-contractor as-built drawings and/or redlines.
- Production of red line drawings as may be required.
- Preparation of O&M manuals and other handover documentation.
