Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems (PMP) has been a leader in the plumbing and mechanical industry for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated company. We specialize in pre-fabrication, modular systems and installation of large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and medical design-build plumbing and mechanical projects.
PMP has continued to experience growth, and we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our estimating team as a Junior Mechanical Estimator. Reporting to a Senior Estimator, the Junior Mechanical Estimator will provide support by producing complete materials and labour estimates for projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and hydronic design, industry equipment and systems.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a plumber on a construction job site is an asset.
  • Red Seal Plumbing Certification is an asset.
  • University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering of Systems is an asset.
  • Proficiency in construction software – specifically Quotesoft, BlueBeam and Revizto is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
  • Previous experience with Procore is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project drawings and specifications to comprehend each project’s mechanical scope clearly and comprehensively.
  • Identify and finish incomplete hydronic and plumbing piping scope on mechanical drawings.
  • Utilize on-screen takeoff software to create a comprehensive materials and labour estimate.
  • Maintain an estimating database.
  • Prepare estimating data reports.
  • Performs other duties as required.
