Are you a strong-team player with a diligent work ethic? Do you have proven experience working as a Senior Assistant Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser? If so, then we may have the perfect role for you!
At JoJo, we’re seeking a Junior Merchandiser ready to take ownership of planning and trading within their department. Working closely with our buying and design teams, you’ll craft a commercially strong range for both our in-store and online platforms. Your role will be instrumental in managing stock across the business and executing our company strategy to maximize sales and profit while minimizing risk.
A peek into your daily adventures::

Planning

  • Create seasonal strategy for product areas, alongside Buying & Design, combining lessons learnt and driving future opportunities
  • Provide seasonal plans and re-forecasts for all categories of responsibility driven from sales history and company strategy
  • Reviews gradings of stores, looking for opportunities for stores to move up / down with categories

Trading / Operations

  • Submit weekly sales, stock and margin performance relating to department
  • Take ownership for in-season trading – analyse trading patterns working with Buying to optimise sales and margin
  • Track and manage stock position, proposing and taking appropriate action to ensure we are moving stock as quickly as possible and preventing stock build up.
  • Manage allocation of stock to planned grades, and monitor performance making amends where necessary to potentialise store and product performance
  • Manage department OTB - continually identifying risks/ opportunities to maintain flexibility and optimise performance.
  • Manage markdown and promotional planning for product areas – strive to minimise markdown and drive profitability
  • Ensure WSSI reflects current strategy and trade

Analysis

  • Analyse historical sales patterns and trends, using findings to make informed and strategic trading decisions
  • Produce weekly trading packs to compare performance against departmental and business KPIs, presenting outcomes to Senior Management as required
  • Provide regular updates on stock levels, sales performance and purchasing, communicating findings clearly and appropriately, taking into consideration impact on the wider business
  • Manage markdowns and promotional planning, striving to minimise markdown and drive profitability
  • Collating information for sign off packs, presenting proposals and preparing for as well as presenting seasonal range and buy sign offs to Senior Management.
  • Management of the departmental WSSI and other key business trading documents

Other

  • Collating weekly correspondence to stores & area managers
  • Proofing catalogues plans to ensure the correct information is included
  • Attend store visits, providing useful information and recommendations, and feedback with actions required
  • Coaching and development of Merchandising Admin Assistant, helping them to manage their day to day tasks whilst helping with their learning and progression

  • Strong-team player with a diligent work ethic
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with other areas to gather information to make better informed decisions
  • Proven numerate and analytical skills plus excellent verbal and written English.
  • Be an efficient and reliable team member who can be responsible for their own work load.
  • Build positive relationships within your own team and between other functions
  • An ability to multitask and effectively prioritise workload
  • Experience of training and coaching other team members
