Description:
Babylonstoren is seeking a young, energetic millwright to join the technical department within the Babylonstoren maintenance team. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of machinery and processes, and will primarily focus on the development and implementation of both new and existing maintenance plans within our factories and on the farm.
Requirements
- A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric / Grade 12).
- An N2 Mechanical or Electrical qualification is required.
- A Millwright Red Seal certificate is required.
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems would be beneficial.
- Experience in automation would be beneficial.
- Extensive knowledge of variable speed drives (VSDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- The ability to work under pressure, with a talent for organising and prioritising tasks efficiently, particularly in dynamic environments with multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office and other relevant software) are necessary for the effective completion of tasks.
- Must be capable of devising creative solutions to complex problems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (Afrikaans and English).
- Honest and sincere individual.
- Must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the reliable maintenance of all technical aspects within the facilities.
- Maintenance of various machines in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- Testing, installation, relocation and connection of machines across different facilities.
- Assistance with service requirements will be expected.
- Reduce electrical and mechanical failures.
- The candidate will report directly to the Technical Assistant Manager.
