We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Junior Millwright Mechanic: to join our team in Scarborough.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Junior Millwright Mechanic will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment in our food processing and packaging facility. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow within our company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification or apprenticeship as a millwright, or working towards completion.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in food processing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in an industrial setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Install and align machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures in food processing and packaging equipment.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime of equipment.
  • Assist in modifying or upgrading existing machinery to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety procedures.
  • Support senior mechanics and technicians as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all maintenance tasks.
