We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Junior Millwright Mechanic: to join our team in Scarborough.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Junior Millwright Mechanic will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment in our food processing and packaging facility. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow within our company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification or apprenticeship as a millwright, or working towards completion.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in food processing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in an industrial setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Install and align machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures in food processing and packaging equipment.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime of equipment.
- Assist in modifying or upgrading existing machinery to improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety procedures.
- Support senior mechanics and technicians as needed.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all maintenance tasks.
