In the Managed Services Department, customers count on us to keep their MySQL databases running and we are vital to the success of their business. With 24/7 support of world-class DBAs, we are able to deliver the highest quality support to customers around the world. From incidents and outages handling through a variety of projects executions to proactive recommendations for environments’ improvements - These are our objectives that aim at customers’ satisfaction and translates to customers’ business results.

Technical skills:

  • Has had 3 years of experience working with Relational Databases.
  • Understand Linux OS Basics.
  • Shell usage (bash): less, nano, vim, less, grep, cd, df, top, ls…
  • Can use SSH to connect to remote systems with password & public/private keys.
  • Understand concepts: IO, Load, CPU, RAM, Disk.
  • Understand automation concept to speed up the work.
  • Basic knowledge on InnoDB internals.
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Schema.
  • Knows how to optimize queries.
  • Knows tools from Percona toolkit or other helping to execute work.
  • Deep understanding of replication and replication models including GTID.
  • Knows how to troubleshoot problems in a MySQL environment.
  • Knows backup solutions and strategies.
  • Knows HA solutions and strategies.
  • Knowledge of virtually synchronous replication technologies: PXC and InnoDB Group Replication

Required Non-Technical Skills:

  • Able to individually assess customer/environment impact.
  • Execute approved change management implementation plans.
  • Follow incident handling processes.
  • Address problems by following run-books.
  • Good written English language.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Ability to work well with people and communicate effectively both internally and with customers.
  • Ability to communicate information to staff members and customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • A desire to learn and grow your knowledge of DBMSs.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • A desire to contribute to improving our operations

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to DB systems availability and performance.
  • Develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfill their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement with their environments.
  • Perform technical work that requires planning and scheduling to ensure the best possible solution is delivered on time.
  • React on incidents and provide solutions aiming at maintained environments’ improvements.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment where we are responsible for companies’ most critical systems. Work remotely; there is no central office, and most people work from their homes. Some travel will be required for internal meetings. Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection is required.
